We then set sail on our adventure of a lifetime, heading straight for the Weddell Sea. We were soon joined by numerous seabirds including Black-browed Albatross (this is an immature) (Pete Morris)

During our calm crossing of the infamous Drake Passage, it was a case of all eyes at sea! Blue Petrels were frequently around us (Pete Morris)

Other seabirds seen included Slender-billed Prion (Pete Morris)

... Antarctic Prion which became commoner as we travelled further south (Pete Morris)

Cape (or Pintado) Petrels became constant companions (Pete Morris)

... and were often joined by Southern Fulmars (Pete Morris)

Northern Giant Petrel (see the red bill tip) (Pete Morris)

... and Southern Giant Petrel (greenish bill tip) were frequently in view (Pete Morris)

... and we also saw a few white Southern Giant Petrels during the trip (Pete Morris)
